HipChat turns 3!

Happy Birthday, HipChat! It has now been 3 years since our launch, and in the past year we’ve really grown up. Here are the highlights:

HipChat has also grown a lot as a business. We’ve gained thousands of happy new customers and are supporting large teams we previously could not. Behind the scenes we’ve spun up many new servers, battled through a few of them failing, and readied our architecture to handle another year of big growth. So here’s to another year! We’re grateful for your support and are excited to share the great things we have planned with you.

    Congratulations on 3 years! It feels like I’ve been using HipChat for 10. One of my all-time favorite products.

    I’m also incredibly excited about the full-time Android developer you hired who has already started making very positive changes to the Android app. The beta is so much better, and in a few months, I’m sure it’ll become fantastic, with Holo and tablet interfaces all around, and tons of bugs squished everywhere.

    Yay! Love your product, especially the integration with JIRA tickets and the mobile app!

    Thank you for giving us HipChat and at the same time, freeing us from the reply-all hell that is internal email. We use HipChat as our primary way of communicating internally, and have integrated it into many of our business tools like order management. An yes we have a robot. When you’re hungry, just ask Hubot what’s for lunch and Hubot will answer.

    So huge congrats from us at Firmafon (danish telco).

    Now please hurry up with that native, cool and stable OS X app ;-)

    Happy Birthday! I have loved HipChat from the moment I started using it. We quickly switched our whole development organization, and are now using a Hubot integration. It rules!

    Congrats guys! Great dev/team tools coming out of Atlassian.

    Now all is required is to move away from Adobe Air and into a native app.. been a pain trying to install Air client for Mac.

    Still waiting on the real Mac client. Looking forward to it. (Or alternately, drop desktop clients entirely and go 100% web native on the desktop, using the Web Notifications API for notifications–notifications being the main reason I use the AIR client anyway. Save limited dev resources for web+mobile.)

    Despite my hate of AIR apps (AIR=cr*ppy on all platforms instead of good on any of them) —I love HipChat. :-)
