Get $#!% done: 4 integrations to make you more productive

| January 11, 2017

We all struggle with it: so much to do, so little time. The best ways to maximize your productivity is to minimize the amount of time and mental energy spent on each task, and we’ve got 4 integrations that will help you make the most of the time you do have.

1. To-Do Bot keeps you on task

For some of us, the biggest obstacle to productivity is our memory and/or attention span. We rely on to-do lists like the Internet relies on cat macros; there is no situation that can’t be improved by either one.

Whether you have a memory like a steel sieve or not, To-Do Bot is just the thing to help you make sure nothing slips through the cracks—no fuss, no frills, just quick and easy listing and task assignment.

After installing this bot, get started by clicking on the integration in the right sidebar.

To-Do Bot

You can either click on “Create a Task”…

To-Do Bot

… or use the slash command /todo.

To-Do Bot

Click “Assign” to assign the task to yourself or one of your teammates.

Tick the boxes as you complete each task, and To-Do will record that, as well.

Using To-Do Bot is effortless. The actual task itself… may not be, if there really is a cat involved.

2. Trello takes your to-do lists up a notch

Of course, maybe you’re looking for a to-do list that’s just a little bit more robust—more of a kanban board, really, that you can mold to fit the way your team operates. Trello is one such tool, and it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite to thousands of teams.

Trello integration HipChat

The Trello integration connects to your existing Trello account and publishes your activity in your HipChat rooms, so your teammates are made aware of how your collaborations are moving along in real time. From “to-do” to “doing” to “done”, they’ll be able to follow your progress every step of the way.

Of course, you can choose which notifications you want to receive.

Whether you’re in DevOps, marketing, cat-herding, or any other kind of team, Trello keeps you on target and in the know.

3. Standup Bot keeps your team in sync

A standup is an agile ceremony that allows members of a team to update each other on what they’re working on, what (if anything) they need help with, and what they’re planning to do next.

Though it takes a minimal amount of time, it delivers maximum benefits by keeping everyone on the same page. Standup Bot lets you type your standup report right into your HipChat room, by simply using the /standup slash command.

You can also click on the button in your right sidebar.

Standup Bot then records the report and keeps it in the sidebar with all the others from that day.

And just like that, you’re all caught up!

4. Meekan makes time for you

Got stuff to do with your teammates, but unsure of when you actually have time to do it? Meekan will find the time for you.

Meekan integration

Meekan is your very own calendar assistant. It looks at everyone’s calendars and finds dates and times when everyone is available—even taking work hours and time zone differences into account—so all you have to do is tell it which option you prefer.

The Meekan integration books a meeting room for you. It reschedules meetings when someone can’t make it. And it does it all in seconds.

Your team’s admin assistant will thank you for it.
